Rack Monitoring System (RMS)
Integration of RMS into HP-OV under SUN Solaris

Installation Instructions

• Extraction of the archive, in /tmp for example.

  cd /tmp
  zcat hpov.tar.Z | tar -xvf -
  cd ovrms
  

• Start of integration

  ./install 
  

  The following messages will appear on the screen:

  RMS HP-Openview Integration
  
  Loading RMS mib...
   Done.
  rereading fields
  rm: /etc/opt/OV/share/bitmaps/C/rmsdev is a directory
          Updating rms4181a (objid = 85558)
  Done
  
  Please restart your ovw-sessions for the changes to take effekt
  

  Already in HP-OV integrated RMS will be updated (rms4181a in this example).

• The ovw-Sessions have to be restarted to let the changes take effect.
