 Integration of RMS into CS-CARE

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This directory contains a short description of integration of RMS into
 CS-CARE.

1 Quick installation guide for RMS integration into CS-CARE 3.0
 ---------------------------------------------------------

1.1 Compiling the RMS MIB file
   ------------------------------

    - Install CS-Care on your PC

    - Copy the RMS MIB (file \RMS\MIB\RMS_DOS.MIB into the subdirectory
      CS-Care 3.0\SNMPGateway of your CS-Care installation.

    - Select the MS-DOS-Box of the desktop and enter
      C:\Programme\COMPU-SHACK\CS-Care 3.0\MibCompiler RMS_DOS.MIB

Your binary MIB file is generated.

1.2 Accessing the RMS with CS-Care
   ----------------------------------

    - Open CS-Care SNMP-Manager

    - Under "Edit\Add" select "SNMP-Manager".
      A new window "Options" opens.

    - Enter the IP address and community string of your RMS and select
the corresponding MIB file by clicking on the "MIB Manager" button.

    - Leave the menu with "OK".

    - Now the MIB tree opens in a new window (labeled with the IP address
of your RMS). You can browse through the MIB by double-clicking on
      the OIDs.

Try to open the subtrees while selecting (one after another):

        internet.private.enterprises.knuerr.rms.temp.tempTable.tempEntry

Now you can see all temperature inputs of your RMS with their current
value (if a sensor is connected).

    - You can create graphs (which display the values sampled by the RMS
over a long time) and make a lot of other configuration.

Please use the online help for further information.

 2 Compu-Shack SNMP Tools
 ------------------------

By favour of Compu-Shack Elektronik GmbH this CD comes with a collection
of SNMP tools (time restricted demo versions).

These are contained in the directory

     \RMS\TOOLS\CSHACK\

Feel free to use them for experimental use, but please note that we can't
give any support for problems which result out of their use.
